About Mimëc

Mimëc started with a simple idea. Just do it. 

I had been sitting on a long list of business ideas, waiting for the perfect one to come along. At some point I decided whatever next idea I had, I would commit to it.

One day I was in my bathroom, looking at a pothos propagation sitting in an old orange juice bottle. It looked unexpectedly beautiful. That’s when I thought, what if the plant pot was the fruit? What if the plant became the stem?

From there, it spiraled into Mimëc.

What Mimëc is about

Mimëc is about creating functional pieces that feel playful, surprising, and a little bit clever.

Each piece is designed to feel like it’s scratching an itch in your brain — like you’re in on a visual joke. A tomato coaster that fits perfectly back into a tomato container. A plant that becomes part of the object itself.

It’s that small moment of “wait… that’s so fun”.

Mimëc comes from the idea of mimicry, things that look like other things.

I’ve always been drawn to objects that play with perception. Pieces that make you look twice and feels a little clever. Cut from the same cloth of stuff that scratches the itch in your brain when you realize the double entendre when singing a lyric.  

Like coasters that look like slices of fruit but you can actually put a cup on it. Or objects that fit into each other in a way that just makes sense.

That idea is built into everything, even the name and logo. Mimëc is a tiger, a nod to my zodiac, that has Mimëc spelled in her. It’s all about that layered meaning.

At its core, Mimec is fun, cute, a little intriguing, and designed to make you pause and think, “wait… I love that.”

The intention behind it

At its core, Mimec is about putting something positive into the world.

I care deeply about my community, my friends, my family, and the people and thing we all share this planet with. I believe that everything we create has an impact, no matter how small.

Mimec is my way of making that impact feel light, joyful, and meaningful all at once.

It’s playful by design, but intentional at heart.
